HYDE Interview with MTV About Concerts and Monumental Career


As one Japanese band's most successful and beloved, L'Arc ~ en ~ Ciel has a long and varied career in a span of 20 years. They mark their second decade with their anniversary concert for two days at the Ajinomoto Stadium, they play songs that almost all their discography. We're not just there just to see the concert of L'Arc ~ en ~ Ciel - 20th L'Anniversary Live are amazing, but we can say it is an event that truly unforgettable. Of course it's a birthday away from breakup.

I would not change anything.

6. Do you feel that this band continues to evolve the music?

8. How could you do a cover of "I Love Rock 'n' Roll." Are you a big fan of Joan Jett.,?

We think doing that would be amazing to sing along with the fans at the concert, but English was too difficult for the Japanese. This song marks my first experience with a rock.

9. You seem to have a lot of fanbase throughout Latin America. How to L'Arc-en-Ciel is connected with so many people in Spanish speaking countries?

I've always heard that we have a large fan base, but I do not know why. I just think that because there is a tendency English-speaking countries only listen to songs in English, other countries seem to really understand the music for what it is.

10. You who create and produce your own tracks. Do you tend to appreciate each other's work or you all have very different visions?

Yes, our individualism is what makes us the L'Arc ~ en ~ Ciel

11. Is the song "XXX" represents a new direction for the band, or is it just a piece of the song L'Arc-en-Ciel 'diverse?

We have created a variety of songs, but I guess you could say this one is slightly different.and I love it.

12. How does it feel to be the first Japanese bands that exist on the front page at Madison Square Garden in New York?

It's an honor. It is also very famous in Japan! I hope this will be a success.

13. The fans vote to choose their favorite songs to be sung on a world tour, but how about you.,?!?

14. Results of the 20th anniversary concert you donate to earthquake victims. We know the recovery is underway. What is the most challenging aspect of the present?

Recovery is important too, but I think there should be steps taken to prevent similar tragedies, as well as a review of how nuclear power plants.

15. What is the most challenging to move forward as a popular band with a long history?

In order to gain the trust of the fans, they need to give a lot of confidence. We have long to build trust, so that the bond between fans and we are very strong. My challenge is to please them in the future as well.
